These are the Top 50 firms submitted by GRIT respondents as the most innovative in the industry. The goal of this avenue of inquiry is to glean insight on the drivers of perception around what makes a firm innovative in order to understand how MR firms are capitalizing on the idea of “innovation” to grow their businesses. Step 2: Surveys Aren’t Your Only Quantitative Data Source

Rather than grow larger and larger panels with dozens of profiling questions repeated over and over, perhaps we should find new ways of identifying qualified participants. With some very basic filtering and analysis of my customer database, for example, I can reach response rates in excess of 30%. By targeting followers of relevant brands on Twitter, I can do the same in those cases where I need to reach outside my CRM system.

In preparing for the next wave of GRIT (coming this month!) It occurred to me that a little extra analysis on the top 50 market research companies perceived to be innovative could be interesting, so below is a table that shows their total mentions, absolute rank, and the mentions broken out by Suppliers and Clients.

The Great Conjunction: What the e-Rewards and Microsoft Acquisitions Mean

Posted by Leonard MurphyWednesday, May 11, 2011, 8:11 am 1 Comment
One of my favorite movies as a kid (well, really it still is!) is the classic Jim Henson fantasy "The Dark Crystal". Filled with pseudo-mystical profundities of various sorts, one central element was the race to have certain players in the drama in place before the stars aligned in the "Great Conjunction", when magical things would happen. Well, we're seeing our own version of the Great Conjunction occur now, exemplified by the e-Rewards acquisition of Conversition Strategies and the Microsoft purchase of Skype.
